MATH HACKS THAT TEACHER NEVER TEACH YOU IN CLASS

Are you afraid of Math? Does this subject haunt you at night? Though Math is one of the most valuable subjects we learn in our institution. Still some of us go through a lot of problems with specific tasks and without calculators. Here we are providing some positive math hacks that will change your life and your way of taking math:

1. MULTIPLY DOUBLE-DIGIT NUMBERS BY 11:

It takes a lot of memory to remember tables after 10. However, by using Vedic math, multiplying by 11 is simple and worthy. All you need to do is to add the digits of the number you are multiplying by 11 and place that in the middle of that original number. If the sum of the digit is 10 or even larger than that, simply carry it over. For instance, Take 11×11. You need to separate the number being multiplied by 11. So that there is a place for your number in-between. Now, add the two digits in that number together (1+1 =2) and put the sum in the middle of the two numbers. The answer is 121.

2. MULTIPLY SINGLE-DIGIT NUMBERS WITH YOUR HANDS:

We can add or subtract using our fingers. But if you are a bit uneasy at those multiplication tables, you can use your fingers to do easy multiplications. All you need to do is to assign the numbers 6 to 20 to each of your fingers on each hand. Now take two numbers that you wish to multiply. For instance, let’s take 7 and 8. Put together the corresponding fingers and count the touching fingers along with the fingers below them and add a 0. That would be your tens value. Now, multiply the upper portion that’s above the touching finger. That’s your “ones” value. Add the bottom and top together and there you have your answer.

3. MULTIPLY NUMBERS CLOSE TO THE POWER 10:

Multiply Numbers close to the power 10
This base method uses the power of 10 (tens, hundreds, thousands, etc) and then cross subtracts and multiplies the sums. For instance, take 99×97. Take the difference of these two numbers from 100 and place them in the right-hand column (99 – 100 = -01 and 97 – 100 = -03). Then cross add one set of the numbers to get the first number of the answer. That implies 99 + -03 or 97 + -01 =96. Here is the first part of your answer. Now multiply the smaller numbers (-01 x -03) in order to get the second part of the answer, (-01 x -03 =03). So, the answer you get is by combining the two set of answer is 9603. Pretty easier.

4. THE BACKWARD ZORRO:

Backward Zorro
It is simple and works in no time. Start at the bottom, draw a line from 4 to 24 as we know that 4 goes into 24 six times. Draw the line to the 3 which six times three is 18. Now, draw the top line and write the answer. Isn’t it simple?

5. MULTIPLY DOUBLE-DIGITS BY ANY OTHER DOUBLE-DIGITS:

Multiply Double-Digits by any other Double-Digits
The best part about math is that after performing certain operations, you can turn untamed complex equations into simple, step by step solutions. By using the vertical and crosswise pattern, you can easily multiply large two-digit numbers in no time. Instead of performing the standing method of multiplication, you can just separate and win. Here’s how to do it:
Let’s take 12×34. Firstly, multiply vertically up the right side, i.e., 2 x 4 = 8. So, 8 will be the last digit in the answer. Next, cross-multiply. 3 x 2 = 6 and 4 x1 = 4. Now simply add 6 + 4 to get 10. Carry over the 1 as usual and then you are left with 0, which will go in front of the 8 that we already have. And now, you have 08 in your answer line. At last, vertically multiply up the left side. 3 x 1 = 3 and add the carried 1. Place that in the front of the answer line and here we get 408.

6. MULTIPLY 9 IN REVERSE ORDER:

Multiply 9 in reverse order
If you hate learning tables, here is a trick of learning particular table.  Take the table of 9. Write it down and start writing your counting from 0 to 9 and then reverse it. Write reverse counting from 9 to 0. Here you get your table done. Teachers never really taught us that.

7. HOW TO QUICKLY CONVERT BETWEEN FAHRENHEIT TO CELSIUS IN YOUR HEAD

C to F: Multiply the temperature by 2 and then add 30
(actual formula is multiply by 1.8, add 32)
ex: 22 C is roughly equal to 74 degrees using my method, actual conversion is 71.6
F to C: Now just work it backwards, subtract 30 from the temp. and then divide by 2
(again, actual formula constants are 1.8 and 32)

8. QUICKLY FIGURE OUT THE DAY OF THE WEEK ANY DATE FALLS ON

Know what date will fall on what day of the week

9. Multiply using lines instead of Numbers:
if you are more of a visual learner and you really hate numbers, you can use the Japanese strategy on them and substitute those digits for lines like You Tuber kimelicious does. This one is definitely very easy.
